Ford Mustang Fastback 1968
The 1968 Ford Mustang Fastback is an absolute icon among classic car enthusiasts worldwide. While the first-generation models (1964–1978) are all highly sought after, the 1967 redesign—which introduced a more aggressive rear profile and the removal of the signature 'shark gills'—remains a favourite for many collectors. At Radboud Restoration, we have fully restored this 1968 Fastback to its former glory.
Comprehensive Bodywork & Metal Repair
During this restoration project, we focused on the structural integrity of the bodywork. We removed the original rear quarter panels and expertly welded in new panels to ensure a perfect fit. We also addressed common rust-prone areas by cutting out corroded sections near the rear wheel arches and the lower corners of both doors. For these sections, we hand-fabricated custom steel patches to match the original contours exactly.

Metal Finishing & Final Result
Once the heavy welding and panel reconstruction were complete, we meticulously finished the metalwork to prepare the Mustang for the paint process. The end result is a technically sound, perfectly straight Fastback finished in a classic green—ready for the open road.
