Mercedes 220SE: Complete Restoration of a 'Ponton'

The Mercedes-Benz W128 220SE, the last model in the iconic ‘Ponton’ series, arrived at our workshop as a bare chassis with significant holes and corrosion damage. This project required a thorough overhaul in our workshop to breathe new life into this luxury 6-cylinder.

Traditional Welding and Sheet Metal Work

We have preserved and salvaged as much of the original steelwork as possible, but in many places, new sheet metal was unavoidable. We have fabricated and welded these sections by hand, paying constant attention to the historical accuracy of the design.

From Frame to Iconic Classic 

Thanks to this intensive restoration process, we are giving this Mercedes 220SE a new lease of life. From the very first weld to the precision-engineered details of the fuel-injected engine, we have tackled every component with a passion for German engineering to restore the car to its former glory. We ensure that every detail is just right.
